To honor the shoulders on which I and my theories stand, I’ve decided to compile a series of thoughts that didn’t find their way into my text, but are vital antecedents to dialogue with. My research for this project was in part field research, collecting data observationally, heuristically, empirically and experientially as well as becoming well-versed in the voices that have come before me. Through my text, I try to reinforce ideas —naturally giving credit where it is due— that are tangential to mine, or that mirror and echo mine, or that are simply more developed and mature than mine. This pinball exercise, this back-and-forth, is a mock-exchange between these thinkers, a loose interview that was birthed from the same reason I included editable versions of my essays throughout the project. The tone is more that of a sketchbook; a kind of B-side to the essay content of the project; the quotes that never made it in; a journal of the theory research done while developing the project.
